All the fuckin time and bandits
I've had that happen several times. Wolves, too. Lots and lots of wolves.
Its part of the Hearthfire DLC, It is even mentioned in the trailer for it.
Most of the time, he just stands there staring like a nosy neighbor. I like to see how many times I can visit my house and ignore him before Lydia or my follower at the time appears close enough to provoke him.
Yep. Two options either kill him or hope he doesnt see you (or your follower) when you leave the property.
Yes. Happens all the time
All the time!
The first time, I was under level 15 maybe so he wrecked me. Reloaded and I ran out onto the balcony on my second floor, up onto the roof and shot him with arrows and fire until he died.
Second time was another character, but level 40+. Killed him pretty easily that time.It did scare the crap out of me the first time - it was unexpected.
I walked out of my house in Heljarchen one morning to my kids screaming about a fight and I go around the corner to find a giant clubbing my cow. My wife Sylgja was bravely fighting him with her trusty pickaxe but he knocked her down and killed my cow before I axed him up. Those giants are real punks sometimes.
Hide your kids
Hide your wife
Yes. Each of the three Hearthfire houses has 'wandering monsters' that can spawn. They are wolves, bandits, a Giant and rarest, a leveled Dragon. In my playthroughs, I've noticed that Lakeview gets attacked the most often, Heljarchen Hall the least often.
There might be a couple of dead Draugr in the grass near the fast travel point for Winstadt Manor, which leads me to wonder what mischief Valdimar gets up to in the Dragonborn's absence.
You can get the occasional visit from giants, bandits and wolves.
Twice for me. First time was a big surprise as I was pretty low level. He was right outside the front door, so I ran back inside, upstairs and out onto the enchanting tower balcony and from there to the roof. I shot him with arrows and flames until he died - took a while.
Giants, bandits and wolves. Usually at Lakeside, and nearly every third or fourth exit from the door. I need to carve the 'danger' shadow mark onto my door :)
Bandits will kidnap your family too so watch out.
If you get the giant's attention (fire, ice, yknow usual death wish behavior), you can run up to your balcony, jump to the rocks, scramble SW along the rocks until you can see your front door, and snipe that mofo.
Every time I build Lakeview Manor. Not so much the other homesteads.
I buy cows just for him
Second day after putting up the main building at Lakeview. Lydia and I just chillin', plantin' some herbs, "what's that grunting noise?"... Thud... Practically went right through the front door :\Two days later, bandits showed up. Then a dragon decides to crash the party... I love that and hope the surprises keep coming :)
