I got this Standee from GameStop way back at the StarCraft 2 launch. Since I got a cat, Jim here has been hanging out in my closet and I just don't have room for him anymore. I'd hate to throw this Standee away since I don't think there are very many out there that didn't get partially destroyed by store staff.
It's in pretty good shape, just a bit dusty. The logo has also succumbed to gravity over the years and popped off. Should be easy to stick it back on with some glue though.
If anyone in the metro Detroit area is looking for something like this please reach out. Shipping is too much of a hassle so if you want it you gotta come get it.

Bizarre decisions for this graph to be honest. What was your reasoning for putting points on the x axis and attempts on the y axis? I think the opposite would be more intuitive for the reader; the number of attempts is closer to the "independent" variable, while the number of points is closer to the "dependent" value.
I'd also be more interested in seeing a log scale so that the cluster at the bottom left gets stretched out and the space at the top right doesn't get so wasted.
Lastly, I'd be more interested in seeing "points per attempt" graphed against attempts, rather than seeing total points graphed against attempts.
Still, there's some nice data here. We can see that the top left edge of the data clustered around the regression line seems to be the "gatekeepers", people who often make it to the ro32 but don't often make it further, like Keen. On the other hand, the bottom right edge of the cluster tends to be the players with very high peaks but shorter careers, like Life, Rain, and Mvp. And then the middle of the line reaching out to the top right are players with both longevity and a lot of wins, like Innovation, Stats, Classic, Maru, and Dark.
This is kinda unreadable and the points system you made is arbitrary.
So if I'm understanding right, Maru has played in/tried to qualify for ~45 starleagues and scored ~300 points
Whereas Innovation has tried for 29 and scored 230 points?
It would be nice to have an average score/starleague. Just by eyeballing the data, I imagine that Inno must have the highest average score among those who played a lot of starleagues. Mvp and Dark look highly impressive too (no surprises there)
On the y-axis you can see how many starleagues (GSL, OSL, SSL) a player played in or tried to qualify for (may be some small errors there).
On the x-axis you can see how many points they gathered in their starleague appearances.
1st place = 30 points, 2nd place = 15 points, 3-4 place = 10 points, 5-8 place = 7 points, 9-12 place = 4 points, 13-16 place = 3 points, 17-24 place = 2 points, 25-32 place = 1 point
Fewer attempts should be more impressive. They even have the royal roader award for that.
Curious how it would look then, Life/Rain/SK on top?
Can you please label your axes.
Yup, the adept was them returning to that unit design.
At the start of SCII they tested the idea of changing up the base tier 1 unit for each race. While we don't know the zerg one, the adept design we see here was the idea they had for protoss. Terran was going to get a lightly armored cybernetic infantry named the PIG (prison infantry guard) which were going to be massed criminals sent out to war:
The idea was mostly scrapped for versus though and they went with the iconic SC1 units for T1.
I think they even talked about an adept like unit that was scrapped early on, as well as the silver surfer dude and some other stuff - I believe they tried again during HotS.
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I'd die fighting side by side with a Terran...
This meme makes no sense, TP v Z is a very TP sided matchup. The Medivac-Zealot drop is just a-click nonsense and too imba for a game that we say is high skill. This isn't even mentioning the 400 vs 200 supply.
I know right, where’s StarCraft 64.
We just skipped right to the expansions
man for 8 years they only released Warcraft games. That's pretty insane from today's perspective
No "Wings of Liberty" from their Chinese overlords.
Is there a pic of the whole timeline?
If you look really hard you can see a faint outline of SC Ghost between Starcraft 64 and Infestor Brood Farm Simulator
Went straight from Lings of Liberty to HoTs
The Broodlord Infestor simulator?
would much rather prefer a sc3 or wc4 and bullshit remakes. at least make wc4 with the same storylines of wow expansions if u can't be bothered with creating a new storyline for a rts
Awwww, Warcraft 2 didn't make it into the shot.
Speaking of Warcraft, this timeline made me realize how much WC content Blizzard pushed out.
makes sense considering the bare minimum production value for the global finals
Wings of Liberate Hong Kong, the Revolution of our times.
Maybe the images are posters and someone stole his favorite one.
Makes sense. The terran expansion hasnt come out yet.
herO and Classic... what an incredible loss for protoss and StarCraft as a whole
That 9 DT Blink build will live forever.
That game against Rogue is like the best moment in the finals. What a legend.
What a great, good luck Classic
Win Toss Chin Toss
What a sad way to go. Plays out of his mind but can't win it all because of imbalanced game design. Well done blizzard balance team.
I always felt liek Smix does a great job of translating the players feelings, but then again I don't speak Korean so I cant speak to the authenticity of it.
“That being said”
haha reminds me of the scene from Lost in Translation
I don't get the fun part of it
I'd be much more interested in losing interviews.
Cracks me up every time.
That chicks hot!
Smix is awesome. She works so hard and does a great job 👏👏👏👏
the cold is the void stalker meme is the best meme starcraft has ever seen but this one is a classic too :D
"Foxer" was one of many fan nicknames (I preferred Fauxer) for MarineKing in his first professional SC2 tournament (GSL Open 2) in October 2010.
He was playing under the ID BoxeR as a tribute to https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/BoxeR who confusingly made the top 4 of the same tournament.
At a time when ZvT balance was finally becoming reasonable, 'Foxer' became the first micro king of SC2 by delivering tournament champion, Nestea, his only game losses in the tournament.
MarineKing's matches against Kirix and Nestea left many young zergs (like me) super upset and angry about how overpowered marines seemed to be. MarineKing's proxy rax in this finals is imo the progenitor for all modern proxy rax cheese. I got to hold a real life party for this finals and translator John's speech at the end has always been very special to me.
MarineKing and IdrA are my all time favorite players, simply because they were a treat to watch for vastly different reasons.
I used to love watching Foxer. I forget the name of the map but there was one match where he was just parade pushing with marines non stop against the Zerg. Just a straight up conga line across the map. Though then again, that was probably most of his matches.
I miss inception memes not gonna lie
Does anyone have the GIF that is essentially this? I don't remember exactly but it has a handheld blackboard and takes place in a tent I think?
Edit: found it! https://giant.gfycat.com/GoldenUncommonCutworm.webm
4 marines walk into a bar and asks the bartender for the counter.
Bartender says no counter.
I see no issues here.
This but unironically
Like seriously, everyone of those situations, I'm going marine heavy bio
Because bio Terran IS Marines. All the other units and their upgrades are supports for Marine mobility. Or mobility deniers for that matter.
As you tech up as Terran you don't necessarily get stronger in raw power - you get more mobility tools, unlocking additional tools to prevent mobility from your opponent. And as the game progresses your (and your opponent's) domain gets more and more stretched out so you can actually leverage that mobility.
Terran is brilliantly designed imo.
I miss all them flash memes those were amazing
I miss inception memes.
Was this before or after Koreans killed all the foreigners. I miss those early data with nony and idra and everyone. I miss them all.
You say that like it's not true any more...
Marines and Mines were one of the worst things to happen to the TvZ matchup. For a while, there was so much less variety just because Marines and Mines were so cheap, yet denied so much.
Who here remembers the Protis Sniper over on the battle net forums?
Wasn't this a meme about MKP?
Just like nine years ago, the meme made me smile. It's great! Thanks for bringing it up again!
There was one where someone tells Foxer that there is a resource called gas. He asks what is it for and they answer "making units that aren't marines" to which he says "interesting" or something like that. I laughed at this a lot.
Those marine vs baneling splits were great. Haven't seen that for a while.
oh how times have changed
I actually love the way he played those games, his micro during those times were unparallel. I still remember his games vs NaDa back then, it always ends up being base trades.
Holy shit I remember this meme as if it were yesterday. What a classic throwback
Those triangles, as you amusingly put it, display that something is affected by the Oracle's revelation spell. Each affected unit, building (and rock) gives the caster of the spell (usually your opponent) vision of a small area around said affected entities.
They’re from the Oracle. The ability reveals your units to your opponent.
Edit: Also reveals burrowed units.
It means a flying pervey-boi has revelated them so the Protoss can resist getting sent to dick-town.
They've been revealed by an oracle. The protoss can see them through fog of war, and it also detects hidden units
its worth noting also that the player who has been 'revelated' can also see the mark and is aware that they're being watched.
This is a meme right?
Thats the Mark from the Protoss unit Oracle. It can detect and stays on the unit for some time
