This cannot happen soon enough. There are ridiculously large numbers of people who work completely pointless jobs, or who are completely incompetent, or both.

According to the infographic, the % likelihood of automation was calculated using a Gaussian process classifier (a collection of random variables indexed by time or space), and Bureau of Labor Statistics and O*Net data (willrobotstakemyjob.com). I'm not sure what a Gaussian process classifier is exactly, but it's quite interesting! It concludes that Retail Salesperson, Food Preparation and Serving Workers, and Cashiers are most likely to be automated. Here is the original source.

Its going to suck to be a Mexican in the future. Most of those are Mexican jobs. Remind me why we are importing future welfare recipients by the millions again? How are they going to add value to the economy if automation will make them obsolete?

SS: Usually if someone makes an accidental tweet of this magnitude and then deletes it, they'll give an explanation for why. No explanation has been given here.

It seems to me that he was pressured to remove it. I'd entertain other theories also.

Probably because it's unfounded? He's given himself 2 layers of deniability. "A friend said a friend said" is not how respectable journalists maintain their integrity.

All of the relics were saved and the cathedral's treasury was preserved despite the damage, according to a Paris Match journalist who quoted Father Frederic, one of the priests at Notre-Dame, on Monday evening. Well thats convinient

Notre Dame of Paris is burning since 7pm (local time), just one hour before the highly anticipated interview of Emmanuel Macron who was supposed to expose the government's solutions to the Yellow Vests crisis. He canceled the interview and is said to be going to Notre Dame's Parvis in the next hour.

the dark occultists of this world employ this very ancient science of consciousness, as it relates to time and the movement of the heavens, for nefarious purposes. They employ false flag attacks, human sacrifice and trauma based techniques on massive scales to manipulate the unaware, using their consciousness like a puppet is used by a puppet master.

Drumpf space force at work. France is costing american taxpayers money by not paying their fair share of nato, so he burns down their favorite building on tax day.

Typical gangster tactic. Next time he meets Macron he'll say something like "shame what happened to that cathedral", and then move right on to "sooo, when are you guys gonna start paying more for nato?"

Submission Statement: The New York Times, not in an op-ed but a supposedly straight unbiased news article whitewashes their own lies and the lies of the media over the last three years. They are essentially lying about lying. Notice how bad journalism has gotten where it reads not like a fact based unbiased news article but outright tabloid journalism with the writer’s own opinions enmeshed within which are presented as facts. This is what passes as stellar high tier journalism today. It is all in the FRAMING and how the article is presented. Give it the veneer of legitimacy while pumping out lies and propaganda.

WASHINGTON — The case was closed for President Trump on March 24, the day Attorney General William P. Barr delivered to Congress his four-page summary of the special counsel’s 300-plus page report.

“No Collusion, No Obstruction, Complete and Total EXONERATION,” Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter that day. And in the weeks that followed, the president’s message of vindication and revenge on his political antagonists has only intensified, as he has expressed no interest in reading the full report and leveled charges of treason against Democratic lawmakers.

Mr. Barr’s letter effectively emboldened Mr. Trump, aides said, even as they prepare for new details to emerge from a redacted version of the report — expected this week — that could renew questions about the president’s fitness for office, and even as some of them cringe at Mr. Trump’s choice of the word “exonerate.” (Privately, they admit, they would prefer he use the word “vindicate.”)

But Mr. Trump’s mood has been lighter since the report was filed, people close to him said, even though neither he nor his White House lawyers have seen the full document, or at this point plan to do so before it is released to Congress and to the public. People close to Mr. Trump said they have noticed an increase in his confidence after he spent months feeling weighed down by a loss of control.“When they began to go after people he knew personally, who had worked for him for years, I think it gnawed at him, and I think he felt helpless,” said Newt Gingrich, the former House speaker and a confidant of Mr. Trump’s.

But since Mr. Barr issued his letter, the president has felt liberated and has been testing his bounds. He has poked fun at Joseph R. Biden Jr., the former vice president considering a presidential run, for his handsy approach to politics, despite his own troubled history with women. He has floated the idea of a pardon for Kevin McAleenan, now his acting homeland security secretary, if he encountered any legal problems in shutting the southwestern border. And he has heightened his attacks on the press beyond his normal refrain of “fake news,” falsely claiming that journalists are “knowingly” bending the truth.

Now, as Mr. Barr prepares to submit a redacted version of the report, Mr. Trump’s plan of attack, aides said, is to act as if the report itself is extraneous to Mr. Barr’s brief letter.

“The bottom line: The result is no collusion, no obstruction, and that’s the way it is,” the president told reporters on Thursday. He said that Democrats “know it’s all a big scam, a big hoax” and that he believed what they were doing was “actually treason.” Days earlier, en route to Texas, Mr. Trump told reporters: “I don’t care about the Mueller report. I’ve been totally exonerated.”

Mr. Trump is purposefully escalating his language, people who know him said, expressly to enliven his base of supporters and to enrage his political rivals and the news media. He has revived an idea that his administration rejected — sending immigrant detainees to so-called sanctuary cities — in part, people close to him said, to distract from the report.“The president clearly feels vindicated now that the Mueller report is completed,” said Eric Bolling, a former Fox News host, who recently taped a radio interview with Mr. Trump. “He will continue to remind the American people he was correct about there being no evidence of collusion with Russia.”

Other outside surrogates have been echoing Mr. Trump’s line — that the narrative has already been established and it is too late for new facts to change that — even though members of the special counsel’s team have expressed concern that Mr. Barr’s letter did not accurately portray the contents of the report.

“The facts are that there was no collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia, no obstruction of justice and President Trump has been fully vindicated,” said Boris Epshteyn, a former White House aide who now serves as the chief political commentator for Sinclair Broadcast Group. “No amount of spin by the opponents is going to change that.”

But critics said the strategy is classic Trump — effective with a narrow audience, but ultimately self-limiting. “He will probably have succeeded in setting the narrative for his core supporters and hardening their attitudes, but at the expense of anyone else believing him when the report comes out and inevitably undermines what he’s been claiming,” said Matthew Miller, a Justice Department spokesman under former President Barack Obama. “The same things that solidify his base just prevent him from expanding beyond it at all.”

Neal K. Katyal, who served as acting solicitor general in the Obama administration, said that such an approach could backfire. “Whatever Trump may have thought when he claimed total exoneration two weeks ago, subsequent events strongly suggest that claim will fall flat on its face,” he said. “And because Trump claimed total exoneration from the report, he created massive public pressure for the full report to be released.”

Inside the White House, there is only a bare-bones plan in place for how to handle the release of the redacted report, people familiar with the matter said. Emmet T. Flood, the White House counsel, is expected to spend the day reading the report and to brief the president on its findings.

The White House has not asked to read the report in advance, and aides are planning to speed read. They intend to all but skip the sections related to potential criminal conspiracy, and instead zoom in on two outstanding questions that Mr. Trump himself wants to ignore: why Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel, was not able to conclude whether Mr. Trump obstructed justice, and what the attorney general meant when he wrote in his letter that “much” of the president’s conduct was public — meaning some of it was not.But many acknowledge they are still operating largely in the dark, with guesswork about what the report will reveal about Mr. Trump’s behavior in office.

Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer, Jay Sekulow, would not disclose how the legal team plans to address the report, but he said it would be similar to how the White House responded after Mr. Barr sent his summary to Congress.

“Our goal is to respond as quick as we can; given the length of the report, it may take some time to respond,” Mr. Sekulow said. “But we have a plan in place to respond in a professional manner as quickly and appropriately as possible.”

Mr. Trump’s top aides and some relatives have also been eager for their own vindication. After months of being mocked by reporters for his seemingly off-script moments, Rudolph W. Giuliani, one of the president’s lawyers, recently texted an article in The Federalist titled “Rudy Giuliani Knew Exactly What He Was Doing” to a wide list of journalists.

Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and a senior White House adviser, who was believed to have been a focus of investigators, made a rare appearance on Fox News last week and insisted he never had any real concern.

“I was never worried, because I never thought the notion that we did that,” Mr. Kushner said, referring to whether the campaign conspired with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election. “We ran a great campaign. The president had a great message, and that’s why we won.”

Mr. Kushner, who faced difficulties getting a security clearance and was ultimately granted one on the president’s orders, added, “Over the last few years that I’ve been here, I’ve been accused of all different types of things, and all of those things have turned out to be false.”The White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” reinforced the idea that Mr. Trump has been emboldened by Mr. Barr’s summary, pushing back when the show’s host, Chris Wallace, asked, “How are you going to deal with some evidence that’s going to come out in this report that clearly is going to be damaging to the president?”

“I don’t think it is going to be damaging,” Ms. Sanders said. “We consider this to be case closed.”

Cite the sources. ALL of them. Don't ask us to google it, look it up, or just "know." The burden of proof is on you, the person making the assertion.

Additionally, I wouldn't call this "fake" news vs "real" news. I would call this "English being used to plump up some statistics" and, with proper citations and cleanup, could probably be a good submission for /r/dataisugly too...

    Edit: corrected linked sub.

1.2 million guns, that's one for every four people in nz. Not all those are semi auto or assault rifles most of them wouldn't be . Most gun owners in New Zealand are hunters or farmers and as so many Americans keep up with the protect yourself with a gun argument if you were to do that there you'd probably be charged with murder / manslaughter .

To be fair, the CNN article isn’t fake. Not saying they are a high end credible news source cause they aren’t but that article title says 1 gun owner is giving up his guy and here’s his reason why.

Also I’m reluctant to throw Reuter’s under the bus because I’ve found their reporting to be very solid over the years. They are careful to avoid endorsing rumors and will always say another shitty news source said it but they can’t confirm it.

  • ToplessNedFlanders
    103 points Apr 09,2019, 2:48pm

  • SaturdaysAFTBs

To be fair, the CNN article isn’t fake. Not saying they are a high end credible news source cause they aren’t but that article title says 1 gun owner is giving up his guy and here’s his reason why.

Also I’m reluctant to throw Reuter’s under the bus because I’ve found their reporting to be very solid over the years. They are careful to avoid endorsing rumors and will always say another shitty news source said it but they can’t confirm it.

The Newsweek article shown above just shows how much of a trash organization they are.

It is openly known by pretty much everyone who watches the news that it is extremely biased and manipulative, it’s just that we don’t, ( or can’t? ) do anything about it. "Hi Don if your father ‘loses’ we think it is much more interesting if he DOES NOT conceed [sic] and spends time CHALLENGING the media and other types of rigging that occurred—as he has implied that he might do,” "

    Such journalism.

If they had any interest in transparency they would have revealed his ties with the Trump campaign.

They withheld the DNC/Podesta leaks for many months and timed them to have maximum effect on the elections to help Trump.

Then was begging Trump to be the ambassador, as payment for helping him elected.

Plus Wikileaks lied on Reddit that they did not collude with Trump's campaign while they were giving campaign advice.

    https://np.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/5c8u9l/we_are_the_wikileaks_staff_despite_our_editor/d9up6ox/

And yet the WikiLeaks.org web site is still blacklisted by the \r\politics sub-reddit, meaning they refuse to add the WikiLeaks site (and the excellent MintPressNews.com site) to the |r|politics white list.

The politics forum / sub-reddit censors heavily. They should drop their whitelist / blacklist. How they can call themselves a "politics" forum and censor so many high-quality journalism sites, I don't know.

Also blacklisted is the Consortium News site whose founder Robert Parry won the presitigous George Polk Award for Journalism in 1984. This award is considered the top journalism award in the nation, and the award has existed for 70 years. Like many others, Polk lost his life (was murdered) pursuing a story as a reporter -- in his case, the Greek Civil War.

In additon to the Polk Award, Robert Parry also won the I.F. Stone Medal for Journalistic Independence in 2015 issued by Harvard's Nieman Foundation.

The night before the Democratic National Convention started, DWS walked the stage alone. She had been planning and anticipating this moment of triumph for decades. She was to introduce her long time friend HRC as the first female head of a major party ticket. Instead, Obama called HRC to tell her DWS had to resign immediately. Along with other senior DNC officials.

Fact: Wikileaks releases classified and Top Secret information

Fact: The MSM both Left and Right also releases classified and Top Secret information.

Fact: The MSM both Left and Right love quoting Wikileaks when it fits there agenda. Examples:

Left: Anything negative on the Bush Administration during the early days of WMD.

Right: Anything negative of Hillary and the DNC colluding with the Media to selectively release information during the 2016 election.

Fact: Only Sean Hannity interviewed Assange and asked him directly if Russia was his source for the DNC hack. He said No.

I feel like the reason I'm not a huge fan of this post is because it states something with absolutely no evidence aside from the text in the image. What, no sources, no articles, nothing but a statement about you endorsing wiki leaks? Why not just type it instead of having this picture? Just gives very little in the way of actual content, and seems like something meant to garner attention to the person posting it from people that like wiki leaks rather than inform about anything.

I don't really consider WikiLeaks as media.

It's more a dumping ground of files that are found and want to be made public.

It also doesn't mean they don't choose NOT to post things that could hurt what they want in the end.

This isn't a good thing. It's actually a sign of a GOOD, trustworthy news source when it makes a mistake, owns up to it, then goes back and fixes its error. This is how the spread of accurate information works. No news outlet, no matter how reliable, is accurate 100% of the time. No one is omniscient. It's impossible.

When an outlet makes a mistake, admits as much, then corrects its error, you know its far more likely to be committed to the truth, or something close to it, than one that never corrects its information or admits to being wrong.

It's when a news outlet never retracts or admits mistakes that should spark your suspicion, not the other way around. This also applies to people (see Donald Trump).

  • CornHellUniversity

Traditional media rarely post fake news intentionally. This goal is to either put a spin on a story or to over/under report certain stories that further their agenda. WikiLeaks is not a news media, they have their own agenda and because of the nature of their organization and content they can over/under report without consequence while advancing their agenda.

I’m not saying both outlets haven’t covered important stories or released info that people were better for knowing. But when you look at the backing and associations these orgs have it becomes clear this isn’t Americans holding their government accountable to help us steer a better path. WikiLeaks isn't a news organization, so even if they have misinformation or flat out propaganda they're not required to retract it. However, many of the stories that actual news organizations have used, sourcing WikiLeaks, have been required to retract.

Also promised that Assange will turn himself in if Chelsea Manning was pardoned by Obama. Never did that, another blatant lie.

All because of Wikileaks. One can only hope that Julian is still alive.

He said No.
