Personally, I just have this great headcanon now that when Todd first got super rich he just started buying all the junk food he wanted, gorging himself on pizza and ice cream everyday. He quickly gained weight and then he panicked thinking he was ruining the obviously very real shot he had with Lydia. So then he hit the gym and slimmed back down again. All within the space of six months.

I actually feel for the dude. He's a fantastic actor, and played his psychopathic character absolutely perfectly; but I bet he's gonna be hearing about his chunkiness in El Camino for the rest of his life.

Plemons gave a great performance, that’s what people should be talking about.

It's ridiculous to me that people are fixating on Todd's weight gain. Everyone looks different, everyone looks older. Personally, I think Aaron Paul looks just as different as Jesse Plemons, it's just that for most scenes in the past his face is covered by hair and dirt, but it's extremely noticeably in the scene with Walt that he's a 40 year old man playing a character in his early 20s. But I suspended disbelief for both. Not sure why other people can for one and not the other.

Jesse was starved and malnourished. To him, Todd seemed obese. It’s like, er, symbolism, man!

How to once and for all explain the biggest mystery of the film: Fat Todd. Here's my head cannon:

Shortly after Andrea is murdered Todd has one of his meetings with Lydia. During the meeting she mentions something about beefing up security and needing more "big men" around her.

Todd being...Todd, completely misunderstands this and thinks Lydia meant she's attracted to fat guys. After hearing this Todd begins to gain as much weight as possible. Months later Lydia makes a negative comment about his weight and Todd begins frantically to lose all his gained weight, just in time for their next meeting where he says he likes Lydia's new blouse and up pulls Mr. White.

I'll just pretend Todd gained weight and lost it around the time Walt returned to Albuquerque, mainly to impress Lydia with his build.

People are seriously gross if they think it’s okay to make fun of Todd’s actor for his weight, but you can neeeever comment on a female actor’s weight. Double standards suck.

his performance was absolutely EXCELLENT and my comment on the discussion thread was misconstrued as a fat joke and ended up as the top comment, when it wasn't meant that way so, in a way, i feel guilty

What a backhanded compliment. Saying that we still love him but then still bringing up his weight in a "subtle" way. Jesse Plemons was amazing reprising Todd after so many years. And he brought a whole new layer to his psychopathic personality. He should definitely have a nomination for his role. That's all we should be talking about here.

I'm beginning to feel his weight actually added to his performance. I can't imagine skinny Todd evoking the same feelings thick Todd did.

Jesse plemons is an insane, degenerate piece of filth for not slimming down for this Role.

I love if you type in "El Camino Todd" one of the first results is "El Camino Todd Fat".

I can just imagine him being like "oh boy, lets see what everyone thought of my performance..." and seeing that.

To anyone talking about the quick turnaround the time, it doesn't take that long to lose that type of weight.

During Walt & Jesse's conversation @ the diner in El Camino and walt asked him what he might like to do they should of had him say "woodworking" or something like it. Sports medicine?? That seems so out of place. Jesse never even seemed like a sports guy or anything.

The world death rate is 7.542 per 1000 people per year. Given that this sub has about 1,000,000 subs, 7,542 of us will die each year. About 20.66 per day, and since el camino drops in about 9 hours, we can expect (9/24)*20.66 = 7.77 (call it 7) people to die between now and its release. Serious RIP to those 7 souls
