Odd, considering password managers like 1Password have moved away from auto-submitting logins (https://blog.1password.com/1password-7.2-for-mac-welcome-to-the-dark-side/ see about half way down.)
I’ve noticed this with Face ID as well. Not sure if it was always a thing, but some websites no longer require me to press sign in.
Hope its an option to disable. Same exists in 1Password and I prefer to hit enter myself.

Dude, turn on 2FA.
This sounds like a bad idea.
It’s so annoying. It’s been this way for a while in WebKit nightly and it will log you in before you get the chance of pressing any of the available “stay logged in” checkboxes
Does anyone really use Reddit’s new design?
I'm going to agree with everyone else here, I don't want this feature and I hope it can be disabled.
It's a small detail, but it's one that I appreciate. I'm assuming this is new with the 10.14.4 beta... because I don't recall Safari ever acting this way.
Edit: Some of you are concerned about being able to review information. As far as I can tell, it only does this for username/password entries. Other forms that ask for name, address, etc do NOT auto-submit.
i came to the comments expecting discussion about another severe bug. but apparently people want this?
Not a fan. I like to review what's being submitted prior to submitting data to a website.
This sounds like a good way for an unscrupulous form on a website to skim your password
Auto fill for passwords and credit cards is surprisingly wonky. Apple should work on reliability. The UI even flickers and is hard to click.
I actually don’t like that. I like to see what username it’s putting in there just to be sure. Also, when I had Dashlane, the auto submit thing didn’t always work which I why I didn’t like it.
This is a fail imo. Why change something so insignificant. It was never an issue.
I’m pretty sure this is a Safari, rather than macOS feature. I’ve been seeing it for a while in Safari Technology Preview.
There’s also an option to require Touch ID before it submits the form. I’d guess that that’s going to be the default option going forward on new devices.
This actually isn't one less click though... Other already have the fields filled in, so you just have to click Submit (one click). Apple requires you to select the username before it submits, which is still one click.
In this beta, is it possible to add 3rd-party password manager having the same behavior (same popup in safari) ? (Like Bitwarden)
same for iOS
FWIW, some sites were doing this before the beta released. Ali Express jumps to mind.

How about we get it so that we can disable the strong password """feature""" without disabling autofill?
auto submit is annoying as hell
lastpass has had this for years; when it didn’t get a form right, it was painful
I don’t think anyone’s using /r/MacOSBeta/ but should we? 🤔
Password harvesting will be a breeze now.
Great, now I can forget to click “remember me” until it’s too late every time
This shouldn't happen in this situation. It's a bug. In videos the volume control on the top right replaces the one in the middle of the screen, so this is not right.
I get this consistently when playing videos in Safari.
How did that UI get past design in the first place?
still! they should make it an option. if enough people mention it, they'll patch it...
I have seen this same bug multiple phones on my iPhone 7 :( Apple should really fix this! They need to fix it on macOS as well
Must be a rare bug, that doesn’t happen for me.
Does it still do this with the battery warning. That pisses me off so much when I am watching a video.
This shouldn’t happen regardless. Like the box is old as hell and shouldn’t pop up no matter what app you’re in.
Doesn’t happen that often for me. I think it’s just a bug
The giant volume / brightness HUD is idiotic on the Mac and downright retarded on iOS.
They should have fixed it everywhere years ago. Just make it overlay the rightmost side of the status bar / menubar on each platform.
So... file a bug report then.
You have iOS 11 early exactly because you might submit bug reports, that's the whole point of the beta.
I can’t figure out the new volume slider. It takes a tap to open up the slider, but sometimes the tap mutes it. Can someone explain how I’m incompetent?
Every other beta version was the same for me, hopefully they get it consistently working soon...
They also need to make the video volume control vertical.
I like that volume control. T.T
wait, so how do i know what my volume is when im changing it?
I liked it when it wasn't used during video.
App hasn't been recompiled for iOS 11 maybe and is using the old style for compatibility reasons?
I'm looking forward to iOS11 to get new now playing and I hope that this little shit will go! It's stupid!
Maybe I'm confused. I have the iphone 7 plus, and I don't have the iOS 11 update available. I didn't know it was possible to get rid of that volume bar
you know, thats not a huge issue for me, in fact, I appreciate that because if I'm NOT using my external thunderbolt audio interface, I always keep it around one bar under full.
I will upvote every single post where the OP complains about the volume indicator on the iphone. Apple really needs to fix this badly.
It’s like playing a game of snake from the Nokia days.
Unfortunately, the HIG for iPhone X explicitly forbids showing any UI elements that highlight/acknowledge the black bar's existence.
Cmon now, everyone rotates their phone the other way.
I’m actually curious how native apps like Safari handle this. This type of design is exactly like the detail-oriented Easter egg Apple is known for.
Someone already did better than that
Just.. just black out the sides, Apple.
I imagine the icons like battery and service will just always be there unless you're watching a video, or playing a game, etc.
Those screen protrusions should be permanently black, displaying time, phone/wifi signal, and battery info in white letters - not part of the screen with background and all.
I’m definitely doing it
The iPhone x looks like something that apple enthusiasts would relentlessly make fun of if it weren't an apple product. Even the essential phone looks so much more thought out and clean from a design perspective
This is the best thing I've seen since the Jony Ive talking poo.
I think this is a royally botched effort. They take away the home button to finally show off full screen front.
Give credit where credit is due
Why would they not stick to Black??
The space either side of the bar should be for the status bar only, no ability to disable, then apps will work fine
I find this strangely satisfying to watch...
It's against app developer guidelines. Not like legal, but apple wants to to avoid putting content that far out
I don't get it
introduce a small snake game there
That would be essential for me if I spend $999.
You're rotating it wrong
There is a simple reason why Apple is forcing users to use the ears instead of having them permanently black.
if the upper ears are perma black, the apps will look like cards on a display rather than apps themselves and it is something apple does not want.
If Apple gives users options to black it out fully to developer, half the apps will look like cards, half will be using ears. there will be no consistently and Apple design for apps would be holistically inconsistent
"I dare you... i double dare you motherf...."
I guess I’m the only dummy who thought OP was wanting mouse support for a phone.
“One so immersive the device itself disappears into the experience.”
I’m writing this comment on an iPhone 7 and I applaud Apple’s step forward in design, but, let’s not kid ourselves, the X’s description above is more accurate towards the Galaxy S8.
I... I don’t get it.

That's how screen cancer starts...
Speaking of that notch, I really hope people don't have to watch full screen movies with part of the image behind that notch.
I'm wondering, what happens if you're watching a video full screen? Is part of the video cut off? Or is it cropped?
why would you want that on the side with it rotated? the hand holding it would most likely cover the animation
That will screw keyboard and keyboard attachments too
I actually want this...
iirc narwhal uses the Safari API or something to that nature
I have to say, I personally love this feature from narwhal. When you open the handoff app (I use it on my MacBook), it'll open the reddit post you were looking at and makes it really easy to put your reddit post on the big screen, or look at links more optimised for larger screens or keyboards etc. I wish more apps which have website counterparts did this.
Coincidentally, one of the posts you opened was under your post on my home page
That's not a default wallpaper is it?
This works on the Mac too. See it all the time on my work computer 😅
Yes it works on the computer too. Pretty neat. No need to "share > *wait for sheet > * wait for computer to show up > airdrop" even though that workflow is great too
The cool thing is: if you have the official reddit app installed and browse reddit in safari on your Mac it'll handoff to your phone's reddit app.
Mind sharing your iPad wallpaper?
This is going to terrify porn surfing and shared devices in the household....
I'd imagine it to be very risky if you got a family iPad showing the shit you're opening on your phone haha
so what happens when you hit safari on the ipad?
I believe Beam does the same thing. I used it for a while and it was one of the features I really liked from it.
And this is why your battery options display Safari using a lot of battery instead of Narwhall.
I get google chrome ones.
