    "Waking up"Oil on panel8"x10"

After being tied up with more accurate brush work for almost half a year, I have tons of knife energy that needs to come out. This piece is the start. I love making these fun little environments and trying to create a world with simple colors and dabs of the knife while still communicating a tiny sense of narrative by including a person. One of the cool things about a knife is that you can layer light in one session without waiting for paint to dry to add to it. Happy Saturday guys

Awesome, although the distinction in differences of detail between the rocky cliff and the protagonist compared to the spirit dragon are messing with how I’m perceiving the depth of the image

I believe it’s making the dragon receded into the middle of the image, whereas maybe you intended him to be exploding into the foreground with the hero, as though were right at the juncture of their collision
